The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Diamantino Catarinense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elvio Crispo in the 8th minute of play forced Guará FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zoran Zahrádka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivo Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elvio Crispo in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diamantino Catarinense saved Guará FC from getting behind. In the 19th minute, Kléber Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Guará FC's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Crispo came free, but Diamantino Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Virgilio Gonzales hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Zoran Zahrádka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Guará FC booed when Zuberbühler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Madaleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. A very nice done corner allowed Paulo Renato Marinho to score against Zoran Zahrádka in Zuberbühler FC's goal. 2-0 after 34 minutes. With a little luck, Zuberbühler FC's Zoran Zahrádka got control of the ball when Ivo Figueiredo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Diamantino Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Crispo, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Braulio Neto scored 2-1 in the 43rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Diamantino Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Kléber Romero hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elvio Crispo made a kick off. With a little luck, Guará FC's Diamantino Catarinense got control of the ball when Elvio Crispo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ivo Figueiredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zoran Zahrádka read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Braulio Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Guará FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Luís Gustavo Gerber hit a great ball. After 82 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Valdemar de Alcântara. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Diamantino Catarinense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ivo Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Zoran Zahrádka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guará FC. After 95 played minutes Guará FC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Eger. Guará FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
