The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Maciel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonis Ikonomeas in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elias Garikoitz in the 22nd minute of play forced Green Horses's goalkeeper Wlodzimierz Rawa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaios Petridis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 26th minute Damian Prokowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wlodzimierz Rawa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes Green Horses's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tarcísio Palha who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Elias Garikoitz heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 36th minute, Damian Prokowski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Green Horses's Wlodzimierz Rawa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Green Horses from getting a goal against them. Garanhão do SUL's Israel Coutinho pulled a muscle in his back after 69 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Lakis Zisis's late challenge caught a Garanhão do SUL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lakis Zisis helped the player get up and apologised. Green Horses's Wlodzimierz Rawa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Green Horses from getting a goal against them.
