After 3 played minutes, AEK FC's Erik Stordal shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alf Enström came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AEK FC reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille in the 7th minute of play forced AEK FC's goalkeeper Finn Eidsvåg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When J.J Boss fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AEK FC's protests and gave J.J Boss a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by J.J Boss to maneuver through the defense. Finn Eidsvåg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 18th match minute, AEK FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Harri to maneuver through the defense. After 20 minutes, Erik Stordal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AEK FC and the Lirarnas Lag players grew even worse after the yellow card. Erik Stordal hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Lirarnas Lag's Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Finn Eidsvåg. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. The supporters of AEK FC booed when Lirarnas Lag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elpidio Feliu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27th minute of the match Erik Stordal shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alf Enström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Lirarnas Lag's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 37th minute Radowit Hetman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Enström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Enström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Stordal in the 38th minute of the match. Alf Enström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik Stordal's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. After 39 played minutes AEK FC got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Harri. Finn Eidsvåg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille in the 43rd minute of play. After 46 played minutes, Lirarnas Lag's Magnus Arenberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Finn Eidsvåg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lirarnas Lag reached it. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
A collision led to Lirarnas Lag getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute Christer Wästerberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finn Eidsvåg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Lirarnas Lag's goal looked a bit too open when Erik Stordal came free, but Alf Enström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of AEK FC booed when Lirarnas Lag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Wästerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alf Enström was a little too slow when Severin Hussein got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 3-2. When Severin Hussein came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the AEK FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Severin Hussein couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, AEK FC's Espen Heltne got a free kick in the 71st minute. After a defensive mix-up in AEK FC's zone, Christer Wästerberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Finn Eidsvåg came out of the goal and Christer Wästerberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 77 played minutes AEK FC got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Harri. In the 79th minute, Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Christer Wästerberg struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Finn Eidsvåg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lirarnas Lag. Finn Eidsvåg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christer Wästerberg in the 89th minute of play. After some careless play in the AEK FC defense, Jean-Pascal Bellefeuille kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Finn Eidsvåg. The AEK FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Finn Eidsvåg should have stopped the shot.
