In the 9th minute Nicanor Fero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Desiderio Frederik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 9 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Fernández. The supporters of ZORZAL01 booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Cesario didn't get a good kick on the ball. But to his dismay, Benjamin Firmo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Desiderio Frederik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Fero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Maldonado came free, but Desiderio Frederik reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Desiderio Frederik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arsenio Maldonado in the 42nd minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Nicanor Fero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Desiderio Frederik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arsenio Maldonado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
