In the 10th minute David Nyman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Paul Daalmeyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivar Albohm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerard van den Eede in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Gerard van den Eede cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ivar Albohm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in The Underdogs reached it. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gerard van den Eede made a kick off. The Underdogs's attentive Evert Meppelink managed to snatch the ball when Roger Jansson made a throw-in in the 54th minute of the game. After 56 played minutes The Underdogs got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Penc. 59 minutes into the match, Strömsbro IF's goalkeeper Ivar Albohm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerard van den Eede. Niklas Ödman's late challenge caught a The Underdogs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niklas Ödman helped the player get up and apologised. Jean-Paul Daalmeyer had in the 70thth minute some difficulties stopping Ola Ahlbom's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ola Ahlbom scored 1-3 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Paul Daalmeyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Strömsbro IF booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denny Polak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jean-Paul Daalmeyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Börge Kristiansson in the 77th minute of play. The throw-in from Fabian Penc in the 80th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Strömsbro IF's Gunnar Bergstedt. In the 83rd minute of the match The Underdogs got a corner. Strömsbro IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Brito Montemayor ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Brito Montemayor got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ivar Albohm quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 88th match minute, Strömsbro IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gunnar Bergstedt to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Izaak Achterberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivar Albohm was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. When Bedirhan İrfanoğlu fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strömsbro IF's protests and gave Bedirhan İrfanoğlu a yellow card for diving instead. Bedirhan İrfanoğlu hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ivar Albohm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Izaak Achterberg in the 95th minute of the match. The The Underdogs supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing The Underdogs would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
