The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, UFC STEAUA's Eliodor Bărăian got a free kick in the 2nd minute. When Sport Club Mavericks's Honorio Efraim in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Guerreiro in the 17th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper Ioan Oțeteleșanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Sport Club Mavericks fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Sport Club Mavericks's Armando Guerreiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 24 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's Armando Guerreiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ioan Oțeteleșanu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in UFC STEAUA's zone, Armando Guerreiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ioan Oțeteleșanu came out of the goal and Armando Guerreiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sport Club Mavericks's João Paulo de Sena quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Mircea Dersidan, made in the 27th minute of the game. Ioan Oțeteleșanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Honorio Efraim went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Armando Guerreiro put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Ioan Oțeteleșanu. When Honorio Efraim came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Sport Club Mavericks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorio Efraim couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dani Alves in the 39th minute of play forced UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper Ioan Oțeteleșanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Sport Club Mavericks's Armando Guerreiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ioan Oțeteleșanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 46thth minute of the game Armando Guerreiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UFC STEAUA's Ioan Oțeteleșanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-6 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Filip Băncilă to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51st play minutes Armando Guerreiro shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Ioan Oțeteleșanu and just under the crossbar into goal. 53 minutes into the match, Armando Guerreiro notched a goal, 0-8, to the right of UFC STEAUA's Ioan Oțeteleșanu. Ioan Oțeteleșanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57thth minute of the game Armando Guerreiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UFC STEAUA's Ioan Oțeteleșanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dragoş Bojonca hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute Armando Guerreiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Oțeteleșanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 64 minutes of play, Sport Club Mavericks's Armando Guerreiro made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ioan Oțeteleșanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sport Club Mavericks's Luís Gustavo Coelho was substituted for João Paulo de Sena. 74 minutes into the game, Armando Guerreiro lined in a short shot 0-11 behind a frustrated Ioan Oțeteleșanu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Armando Guerreiro got free with Ioan Oțeteleșanu in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Armando Guerreiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ioan Oțeteleșanu. That made the score 0-12 in the 79 minute of play. After some careless play in the UFC STEAUA defense, Armando Guerreiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ioan Oțeteleșanu. The UFC STEAUA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ioan Oțeteleșanu should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind UFC STEAUA's goalkeeper Ioan Oțeteleșanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eliodor Bărăian's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Telmo de Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Armando Guerreiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Mavericks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-14. If Honorio Efraim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Sport Club Mavericks could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than UFC STEAUA throughout the match.
