The supporters of Merengue FC booed when UFC STEAUA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragoş Bojonca didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Jose Victoro put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ioan Oțeteleșanu. UFC STEAUA's Ioan Oțeteleșanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save UFC STEAUA from getting a goal against them. After 44 played minutes Merengue FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Larra.

Filip Băncilă in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. When the match was over UFC STEAUA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Merengue FC throughout the match.
