In the 11th minute, Orlando de Andrade left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Academia Militar MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 14th minute Orlando de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvério Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Matorin in the 24th minute of play. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando de Andrade in the 25th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando de Andrade came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute Orlando de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José do Vale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Academia Militar MZ were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Orlando de Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rdth minute of the game Orlando de Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Angelo Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvério Netto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. José do Vale made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Toninho Dias sent off a good shot on target. Adrianinho de Salles got in the 70th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but José do Vale handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Adrianinho de Salles who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of José do Vale when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 79 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Toninho Dias came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrianinho de Salles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play.
