José do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Pascua in the 7th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Veronica Sabugo got free with José do Vale in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when Loja S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Yañez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Carrandi struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. José do Vale didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Loja S.C.. José do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Pascua in the 24th minute of the match. In the 28th minute, Alexandro Antoniano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Veronica Sabugo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but José do Vale made a huge save. Felix Pascua's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José do Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 33 minutes, Rene Carrandi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Loja S.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Rene Carrandi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rene Carrandi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but José do Vale made a huge save. José do Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Pascua in the 37th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Loja S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Moisés Yañez. After 45 played minutes SAO JOANENSE FC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Mangueira. A hard shot by Moisés Yañez from long distance, 46 minutes into the match, got José do Vale's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Pedrinho Lara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Fidel Lecea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Veronica Sabugo made the kick off in the second half. Veronica Sabugo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. José do Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Felix Pascua managed to get in a good position for a shot. Loja S.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Pascua was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José do Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57th minute, Jerônimo Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moisés Yañez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd minute, Rene Carrandi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to SAO JOANENSE FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Cássio Mangueira hit a great ball. José do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Veronica Sabugo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Pascua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Loja S.C.'s Fidel Lecea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Loja S.C. from getting a goal against them. José do Vale came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Loja S.C.'s Veronica Sabugo. But to his dismay, Veronica Sabugo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The supporters of SAO JOANENSE FC booed when Loja S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandro Antoniano didn't get a good kick on the ball. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Pascua in the 91st minute of play. Rene Carrandi might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rene Carrandi ran back to his position shaking his head. For all the effort they put into the match, the SAO JOANENSE FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Loja S.C..
