Orlando de Andrade started the match with the kick off. Academia Militar MZ's Silvério Netto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebio Koldo in the 5th minute of play. Silvério Netto came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Hurboc's John Wick. But to his dismay, John Wick quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 14th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos de Senna to maneuver through the defense. John Wick took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvério Netto. Silvério Netto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Hernan Berenguer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Dias in the 18th minute of the match. Silvério Netto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cosme Thomas, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Hernan Berenguer was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Orlando de Andrade capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orlando de Andrade really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Silvério Netto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John Wick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mauro Iago fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hurboc's protests and gave Mauro Iago a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Mauro Iago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hurboc's Hernan Berenguer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando de Andrade in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Academia Militar MZ's goal looked a bit too open when John Wick came free, but Silvério Netto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauro Iago might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvério Netto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauro Iago ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 35th minute, Adrianinho de Salles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hernan Berenguer. The goal made the score 2-2. Adrianinho de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Thomas's late challenge caught a Academia Militar MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cosme Thomas helped the player get up and apologised. After 40 played minutes Hurboc got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Thomas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaudencio Isidor in the 42nd minute of play forced Academia Militar MZ's goalkeeper Silvério Netto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Cearense lost his temper 43 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of Hurboc booed when Academia Militar MZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Cearense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvério Netto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mauro Iago in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when John Wick stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 50th match minute, Academia Militar MZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Toninho Dias to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Wick got free with Silvério Netto in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rogério Gaúcho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hernan Berenguer having to make a save. Dedé Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cosme Thomass short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Silvério Netto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 76th minute Toninho Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Berenguer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cosme Thomas got free with Silvério Netto in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Academia Militar MZ supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Hurboc's performance. The match ended with a win for Hurboc.
