Independiente's Miguel Ángel Santoro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 16 minutes into the match, Leicester Foxes Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Ferdinand Bauer came free, but 梅荣光 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Ángel Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Pennant in the 20th minute of the match. C. A. Independiente's attentive Todd Ogden managed to snatch the ball when Gökdeniz Karadeniz made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. The supporters of Leicester Foxes Academy booed when C. A. Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Todd Ogden didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute, Elpidio Hever hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leicester Foxes Academy's 梅荣光 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferdinand Bauer in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute C. A. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 74th minute Dean Niven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Ángel Santoro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Peter Pennant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leicester Foxes Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Pennant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Ángel Santoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leicester Foxes Academy's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
