After 9 played minutes Salmuera CP got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Gorbea. Marcelo Eger's late challenge caught a Salmuera CP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Eger helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marcelo Eger hit a great ball. If Eusebio Paskal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandão Penha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebio Paskal in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Emiliano Toribio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute Eliézer da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Vela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliézer da Silveira charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eliézer da Silveira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 36 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Célio Pena. Eloy Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Fernandão Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Tabby, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Castanheiro SC getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Umberto Dionísio hit a great ball. In the 43rd minute Eliézer da Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Vela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eloy Vela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer da Silveira in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Salmuera CP's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Trancoso came free, but Eloy Vela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliézer da Silveira was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Leonardo Trancoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Eloy Vela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Adolfo Tabby struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Fernandão Penha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salmuera CP. After 60 played minutes Castanheiro SC got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer da Silveira. Eloy Vela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Fernandão Penha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anibal Fidencio in the 63rd minute of play. Salmuera CP's Eloy Vela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Salmuera CP from getting a goal against them. Eliézer da Silveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eloy Vela having to interfere. Eloy Vela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 69th minute of play. After 74 minutes Salmuera CP's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Célio Pena who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Célio Pena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Eloy Vela quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Marcelo Eger hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Leonardo Trancoso's late challenge caught a Salmuera CP's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Trancoso helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th match minute, Castanheiro SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonardo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, Castanheiro SC's Eloy Vela threw himself towards the right post 84 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eliézer da Silveira, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leonardo Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Eloy Vela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonardo Trancoso in the 92nd minute of play. The Castanheiro SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Castanheiro SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
