Carlos Alberto de Sousa started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Academica Pulheim getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Hannes Steckamp hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Jari Anzengruber came free, but Fernando Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Futbol Club RRFV's Fernando Miguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jari Anzengruber in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Futbol Club RRFV's Marcel Hoffmann seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marcel Hoffmann the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Futbol Club RRFV protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marcel Hoffmann had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 13th minute of the match Jari Anzengruber sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fernando Miguel skillfully saved the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Jari Anzengruber notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Futbol Club RRFV's Fernando Miguel. Fernando Miguel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 17 minutes into the game, Otto Kuhn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academica Pulheim's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Futbol Club RRFV the free kick. Otto Kuhn kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. When Jari Anzengruber fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academica Pulheim's protests and gave Jari Anzengruber a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jari Anzengruber didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Guilherme Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Dariusz Wieberneit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Futbol Club RRFV booed when Academica Pulheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hannes Steckamp didn't get a good kick on the ball. A long shot from Dedê Freire in the 26th minute of play was well struck, but Dariusz Wieberneit made a really good save at the right post. Jacek Thierse kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st minute, Dedê Freire sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Academica Pulheim's Dariusz Wieberneit didn't even have to move. Hannes Steckamp hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Fernando Miguel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Schulitz in the 37th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Florian Schulitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jari Anzengruber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Fernando Miguel made a huge save. With his leg Fernando Miguel managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Academica Pulheim's Florian Schulitz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Hannes Steckamps short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Fernando Miguel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fernando Miguel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hannes Steckamp in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Jari Anzengruber came free, but Fernando Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Futbol Club RRFV's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Florian Schulitz scored to the left of an out of position Fernando Miguel, making the score, 0-2. Academica Pulheim's Noel Schaffert was substituted for Jari Anzengruber. Futbol Club RRFV's Fernando Miguel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Florian Schulitz in the 75th minute of play. Fernando Miguel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rainer Stuntebeck in the 83rd minute. After 87 played minutes Hannes Steckamp rounded Futbol Club RRFV's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. Noel Schaffert took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernando Miguel. Fernando Miguel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Academica Pulheim played a much better game than Futbol Club RRFV and deserved their victory. The Futbol Club RRFV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
