Paulo de Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavio Lucila in the 8th minute of play. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Júlio Negri quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Eugenio Furman, made in the 14th minute of the game. In the 15th minute Flavio Lucila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Júlio Negri hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Paulo de Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnaldo Bide in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th minute Celedonio Cordareo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo de Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lenílson Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Rio Verde F.C CIMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lenílson Gomes couldn't finish the play.
