Jean-Pascal Herrmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andrzej Köpke read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Cats and dogs's Jean-Pascal Herrmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrzej Köpke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goalkeeper Andrzej Köpke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jean-Pascal Herrmann. In the 26thth minute of the game Kryspin Jaroszewicz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cats and dogs's Franz Torres was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 27 minutes of play, Cats and dogs's Jean-Pascal Herrmann made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrzej Köpke was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 33rd minute, Jean-Pascal Herrmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Cats and dogs's goal looked a bit too open when Kryspin Jaroszewicz came free, but Franz Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Andrzej Köpke managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Cats and dogs's Adam Lanfranchi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Adam Lanfranchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kryspin Jaroszewicz in the 42nd minute of play forced Cats and dogs's goalkeeper Franz Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Lanfranchi to make the kick off. If Adam Lanfranchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cosmos 1984 NewDance booed when Cats and dogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sébastien Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Lanfranchi in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andrzej Köpke saved Cosmos 1984 NewDance from getting behind. Jean-Pascal Herrmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the game, Cats and dogs's Jean-Pascal Herrmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrzej Köpke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 70 minutes into the match, Jean-Pascal Herrmann notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Andrzej Köpke. Andrzej Köpke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 74 minutes into the game, Cats and dogs's Adam Lanfranchi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andrzej Köpke made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. The audience was convinced that Adam Lanfranchi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andrzej Köpke was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Cats and dogs were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after Cosmos 1984 NewDance's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Titouan Bock took the corner. Cats and dogs's Titouan Bock was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Andrzej Köpke in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Andrzej Köpke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adam Lanfranchi in the 80th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Cosmos 1984 NewDance's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Lanfranchi came free, but Andrzej Köpke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Adam Lanfranchi came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Cats and dogs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Lanfranchi couldn't finish the play. After 85 minutes of play, Cats and dogs's Adam Lanfranchi made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andrzej Köpke was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cosmos 1984 NewDance's Andrzej Köpke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Lanfranchi in the 89th minute of play. Cosmos 1984 NewDance's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
