Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Alfonso Dalmai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wang Chen in the 51st minute of play. 52 minutes into the game, Coritiba Foot Ball Club's Wang Chen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfonso Dalmai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Dante Millan struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Gery Pattimura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Fernet Branca. Wang Chen scored 0-3 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alfonso Dalmai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Coritiba Foot Ball Club booed when Sportivo Fernet Branca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmo Teyo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gery Pattimura having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Coritiba Foot Ball Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
