The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stoyne Derlipanski hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. The Peluchita Fc fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Peluchita Fc's Celso Viator looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 11th minute Evaristo Abastas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Ulysses Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celso Viator in the 13th minute of play. Celso Viator might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celso Viator ran back to his position shaking his head. Elano Manco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Almeida, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peluchita Fc's Elano Manco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Almeida in the 20th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo Fantini during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Ivo Fantini hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Evaristo Abastas made a precise shot to the right of Antônio Carlos Cavalcante. Palestra do Interior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Viator, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Elano Manco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Serafim Simão in the 40th minute. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Abastas in the 42nd minute of play. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Peluchita Fc's Evaristo Abastas. But to his dismay, Evaristo Abastas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Evaristo Abastas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Elano Manco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jhon Barcellos in the 60th minute of play. William Luz charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed William Luz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peluchita Fc's Nemesio Bermudez was substituted for Lino Orland. In the 65th minute, William Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elano Manco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serafim Simão in the 66th minute of the match. After 68 played minutes Evaristo Abastas rounded Palestra do Interior's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Beto Camps got free with Antônio Carlos Cavalcante in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 74 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by William Luz. Elano Manco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandy Ogrocki went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Evaristo Abastas hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 79 played minutes, Palestra do Interior's Dedé Mazer shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Elano Manco came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Palestra do Interior reached it. A collision led to Palestra do Interior getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Delfim Quintal hit a great ball. Peluchita Fc's Nicanor Fonso got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Palestra do Interior's Ulysses Neto got a free kick in the 86th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Evaristo Abastas could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Antônio Carlos Cavalcante however easily saved by the left post. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palestra do Interior's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Elvio Bikendi was slow to take the kick. During this time Peluchita Fc's players had a chance to rest. Sandy Ogrocki got his second yellow card in the match during the 90th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. 94 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaristo Abastas. Peluchita Fc's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
