The supporters of Brugge United booed when FC Fura Balizas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lourenço Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brugge United's Aldo Candal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Brugge United from getting a goal against them. Normando Macena kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. A collision led to FC Fura Balizas getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Homero Saraiva hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Durval Póvoas came free, but Aldo Candal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durval Póvoas in the 34th minute of play forced Brugge United's goalkeeper Aldo Candal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lourenço Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Aldo Candal made a huge save. In the 40th minute Durval Póvoas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aldo Candal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Fura Balizas's Brazilio Tasso was substituted for Jordão Vasques. In the 79th minute, Durval Póvoas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Durval Póvoas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldo Candal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Durval Póvoas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brugge United's Aldo Candal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Durval Póvoas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
