The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto Marquez. Rony Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basarab Arotăriței, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dacian Iurea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfredão Mesquita's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Pedro Augusto Marquez hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Olimpiu Tapalagă's late challenge caught a Sport Club Mavericks's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Olimpiu Tapalagă helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to FC Berea getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Olimpiu Tapalagă hit a great ball. FC Berea's Dacian Iurea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Augusto Marquez in the 13th minute of play. The long shot by Davi Rossi in the 17th minute really tested Dacian Iurea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Arotăriței in the 21st minute of play forced Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Rony Paiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When FC Berea's Basarab Arotăriței in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sport Club Mavericks's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute, Adrian Hâldan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Berea fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Zézinho Neto hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. FC Berea were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Sport Club Mavericks's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Basarab Arotăriței took the corner. In the 42nd minute, Berea Luca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute Basarab Arotăriței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adrian Hâldan scored 0-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rony Paiva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Sport Club Mavericks players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FC Berea were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredão Mesquita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Sport Club Mavericks's goalkeeper Rony Paiva had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrian Hâldan. In the 57th minute, Liviu Mihaiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to FC Berea getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Petrică Gherghe hit a great ball. Davi Rossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dacian Iurea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Rony Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Berea Luca in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match, Basarab Arotăriței tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rony Paiva saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 62 minutes into the game, FC Berea's Basarab Arotăriței nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rony Paiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 65th minute, Giuseppe Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Berea Luca managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Berea's supporters rose to their feet, but Berea Luca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sport Club Mavericks's Rony Paiva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Basarab Arotăriței in the 74th minute of play. Adrian Hâldan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Rony Paiva made a huge save. In the 80th minute Berea Luca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cássio Santana kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. With a little luck, Sport Club Mavericks's Rony Paiva got control of the ball when Olimpiu Tapalagă tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th minute Basarab Arotăriței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rony Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rony Paiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Olimpiu Tapalagă in the 94th minute. After 96 played minutes FC Berea got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Hâldan. FC Berea's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
