In the 10th minute of the match, Victor Strömberg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Milton Diaz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Milton Diaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Strömberg in the 15th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Heraclides Moreno got a free kick in the 16th minute. After some careless play in the ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ defense, Victor Strömberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Milton Diaz. The ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Milton Diaz should have stopped the shot. Egil Sandwall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermes Pinilla in the 29th minute of the match. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Milton Diaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ from getting a goal against them.
