The tension between the AFK Petržalka and the Deportivo Popolizio FBC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th match minute, AFK Petržalka was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Trenčan to maneuver through the defense. After 5 played minutes, Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Felipe Sotelo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ivan Adamčík came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Popolizio FBC reached it. 11 minutes into the match, Klement Dupal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eduardo Lezarreta, 1-0. Eduardo Lezarreta made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Tibor Barmoš sent off a good shot on target. Tibor Barmoš's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Lezarreta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. Hector-Luis Almandoz hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After taking down the ball on AFK Petržalka's corner Ivan Kaľavský fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eduardo Lezarreta quite easily take care of the ball. Ivan Adamčík made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loren Canel in the 32nd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Tibor Barmoš managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFK Petržalka's supporters rose to their feet, but Tibor Barmoš was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eduardo Lezarreta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teofilo Alcala made in the 40th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Loren Canel however managed to control. Tibor Barmoš's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduardo Lezarreta read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Quintan Ontavilla to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Ivan Adamčík, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by AFK Petržalka's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Felipe Sotelo was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Popolizio FBC's players had a chance to rest. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's Felipe Sotelo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ivan Adamčík in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportivo Popolizio FBC's goalkeeper Eduardo Lezarreta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eduardo Lezarreta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tibor Barmoš in the 61st minute of the match. Ivan Adamčík showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quintan Ontavilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ivan Kaľavský hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Tibor Barmoš's late challenge caught a Deportivo Popolizio FBC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tibor Barmoš helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Deportivo Popolizio FBC booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tibor Barmoš didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Lezarreta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tibor Barmoš's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Gabriel Trenčan got a free kick in the 81st minute. Tibor Barmoš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Eduardo Lezarreta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Tibor Barmoš made a precise shot to the right of Eduardo Lezarreta. Deportivo Popolizio FBC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Miroslav Brezník didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tibor Barmoš scored 3-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Lezarreta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AFK Petržalka's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
