The shot was stopped by Dirk-Jan Akkerman but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo Arce in the 5th minute of play forced The Underdogs's goalkeeper Dirk-Jan Akkerman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carsten van Wonderen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Rondinone F.C - FDFDF getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Luís Eduardo Arce hit a great ball. Pedrinho do Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, Luís Eduardo Arce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dirk-Jan Akkerman. The Underdogs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Eduardo Arce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Bow Ling fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Underdogs's protests and gave Bow Ling a yellow card for diving instead. Bow Ling hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 33rd minute of the match Hermínio Maciel shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dirk-Jan Akkerman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Twan de Koning during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to The Underdogs getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Twan de Koning hit a great ball. Arnaldo Coutinho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 36th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dirk-Jan Akkerman. The Underdogs's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dirk-Jan Akkerman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedrinho do Valle in the 38th minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goalkeeper Dirk-Jan Akkerman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Eduardo Arce. In the 47th match minute, The Underdogs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthijs De Ligt to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carsten van Wonderen to strike the kick off in the second half. Pedrinho do Valle might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dirk-Jan Akkerman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrinho do Valle ran back to his position shaking his head. 57 minutes into the match, The Underdogs's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho do Valle came free, but Dirk-Jan Akkerman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by The Underdogs's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Arnaldo Coutinho was slow to take the kick. During this time Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's players had a chance to rest. The Underdogs's Dirk-Jan Akkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedrinho do Valle in the 61st minute of play. The supporters of Rondinone F.C - FDFDF booed when The Underdogs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corné Knopper didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Samuca Netto was substituted for Osvaldo Sampaio. Arnaldo Coutinho struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Dirk-Jan Akkerman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rondinone F.C - FDFDF. The The Underdogs fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dirk-Jan Akkerman should have stopped the shot. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
