Rutger Cane made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gerrit Baker in the 4th minute. Stakbröte's Rutger Cane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ralph Peeters in the 7th minute of play. Gerrit Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Rutger Cane tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Ferry van Zalingen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 21 minutes into the match, Stakbröte's goal looked a bit too open when Ralph Peeters came free, but Rutger Cane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Bryngelsson hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Algot Danielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Algot Danielsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Stakbröte's goalkeeper Rutger Cane had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerrit Baker. Per-Åke Grönlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henny Jans having to interfere. If Ralph Peeters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephan Boezeman made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Joop Heinen got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The long shot by Felix Bryngelsson in the 53rd minute really tested Henny Jans's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Stakbröte's Rutger Cane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stephan Boezeman in the 59th minute of play. Rutger Cane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralph Peeters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jurjen Tanis during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stakbröte's Felix Bryngelsson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 68th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Henny Jans but with some difficulty. A collision led to Verwachting getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Ferry van Zalingen hit a great ball. Henny Jans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Åke Grönlund, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Stakbröte's goal looked a bit too open when Ferry van Zalingen came free, but Rutger Cane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tor Trillkott came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Stakbröte fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tor Trillkott couldn't finish the play. Rutger Cane made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ralph Peeters in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Stakbröte's Per-Åke Grönlund slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henny Jans. That made the score 0-1 after 88 minutes of play. Stakbröte's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
