After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Comunardo Zollino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glasgow Rangers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Comunardo Zollino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bengt-Rune Glanselius breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 9 minutes into the match, Glasgow Rangers FC's Eraldo Monaco broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Juoksengi's Alvin Berglund got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aldo Marzoli kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Eraldo Monaco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Comunardo Zollino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Rune Glanselius having to interfere. Alvin Berglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ferruccio Carafa having to interfere. The Glasgow Rangers FC fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Glasgow Rangers FC's Eraldo Monaco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Glasgow Rangers FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Aldo Marzoli hit a great ball. Bengt-Rune Glanselius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Comunardo Zollino, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Glasgow Rangers FC's Amerigo Di Croce was substituted for Fabiano Passerini. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Jonasson made a kick off. After 61st play minutes Alvin Berglund shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Ferruccio Carafa and just under the crossbar into goal. Alvin Berglund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferruccio Carafa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Juoksengi's Bengt-Rune Glanselius proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Juoksengi from getting a goal against them. In the 72nd minute Alexander Paoletti suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Andy Stenman hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Bengt-Rune Glanselius made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Eraldo Monaco sent off a good shot on target. Bengt-Rune Glanselius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelo Di Bernardo in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Johannes Viberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Juoksengi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Glasgow Rangers FC the free kick. After 84 played minutes Juoksengi got a freekick which was hit by Johannes Viberg. Johannes Viberg was shown his second yellow card after 86 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 86th minute, Johannes Viberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, Juoksengi's goalkeeper Bengt-Rune Glanselius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eraldo Monaco. Juoksengi's Bengt-Rune Glanselius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eraldo Monaco in the 93rd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
