Silvinho Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sondang Gultom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Giring Suprianto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvinho Gaúcho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bagong Tomagola hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Xande Gol hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Kamal Habib threw himself towards the right post 32 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Memphis Xande, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Riswan Batubara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Riswan Batubara to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Xande Gol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when Lucky Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giring Suprianto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucky Star's Giring Suprianto suffered a concussion in the 61st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Geovânio Viana fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored New Joinville - FSCMZ's protests and gave Geovânio Viana a yellow card for diving instead. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Humberto do Nascimento replaced Murillo Esteves. The supporters of Lucky Star booed when New Joinville - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position.
