José Alberto Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valeriu Paraschivescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. A collision led to Golden Tigers getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Abdul Aziz Al Holey hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the match, Golden Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Eliodor Petran came free, but José Alberto Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute, Eliodor Petran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buffalo Timişoara fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. José Alberto Chilavert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrei Zâncă's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. In the 17th minute Eliodor Petran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alberto Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Buffalo Timişoara's goalkeeper David Chițes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Al Towatan. 21 minutes into the game, Abdul Aziz Al Holey recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of David Chițes. Abdul Aziz Al Holey showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. José Alberto Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliodor Petran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Alberto Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihai Poalelungi in the 25th minute of the match. Ali Al Towatan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Chițes having to interfere. Iosif Aluchei hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Eliodor Petran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Alberto Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliodor Petran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrei Zâncă in the 41st minute of play forced Golden Tigers's goalkeeper José Alberto Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 played minutes Buffalo Timişoara got a freekick which was hit by Emil Filipoiu. Esam Al Hashash fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Chițes having to interfere. Andrei Zâncă hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Buffalo Timişoara defense, Fawaz Boland kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Chițes. The Buffalo Timişoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Chițes should have stopped the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ali Al Towatan made a kick off. Mihai Poalelungi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. José Alberto Chilavert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 56 minutes into the game, when Filip Graur put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Golden Tigers booed when Buffalo Timişoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Graur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Eliodor Petran fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 62nd match minute, Golden Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basem Al Baghli to maneuver through the defense. José Alberto Chilavert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliodor Petran went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Abdul Aziz Al Holey kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After having played for 85 minutes, Valeriu Paraschivescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buffalo Timişoara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valeriu Paraschivescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 90th minute, Esam Al Hashash left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Golden Tigers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
