The shot was a little too simple and José Alberto Chilavert could save by the left post. 22 minutes into the game, Jan Giec was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Janusze Futbolu's Michal Brysz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Al Towatan in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Janusze Futbolu's Milosz Fafinski ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind José Alberto Chilavert. José Alberto Chilavert yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. In the 42nd minute, Esam Al Hashash ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Michal Brysz was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. In the 45th match minute, Golden Tigers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdul Aziz Al Holey to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Golden Tigers were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ali Al Towatan to strike the kick off in the second half.
