The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cacá da Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Israel Bortzaioriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Israel Bortzaioriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adhemar Freire in the 7th minute of the match. Antonio Isidor hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. If Angelo Ponciano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Israel Bortzaioriz made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Wanderson Baptista sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Wanderson Baptista took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Israel Bortzaioriz to make any attempt to save it. A collision led to Atletas Campesinos F.C. getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Nestor Elizardo hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Angelo Ponciano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Beto de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Vila Nova FC booed when Atletas Campesinos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Isidor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Beto de Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Pelagius in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 36th minute, Vila Nova FC's Wanderson Baptista ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Israel Bortzaioriz. Israel Bortzaioriz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Vila Nova FC's Wanderson Baptista got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Beto de Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogelio Quintyn in the 45th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wanderson Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Beto de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Pelagius, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a rather tough play, Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Remigio Katia got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Vila Nova FC's Henrique Dantas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Atletas Campesinos F.C.. After a rather tough play, Vila Nova FC's Henrique do Vale got a free kick in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute of the match Antonio Isidor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Beto de Sousa skillfully saved the ball. Beto de Sousa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evaristo Pelagius in the 68th minute. Israel Bortzaioriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, Damaso Nataniel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Vila Nova FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Cacá da Fonseca hit a great ball. Adhemar Freire recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Atletas Campesinos F.C. booed when Vila Nova FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilton Toledo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Adhemar Freire received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Israel Bortzaioriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damaso Nataniel charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damaso Nataniel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s Damaso Nataniel got a free kick in the 87th minute. If Wanderson Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá da Fonseca in the 92nd minute of play forced Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s goalkeeper Israel Bortzaioriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Vila Nova FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
