Internazionale-RS's Samuca Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 41 minutes into the match, Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Thiago Coutinho came free, but Nechifor Gheție reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Dráuzio Saldanha got free with Nechifor Gheție in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Túlio Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nichifor Burnei in the 98th minute of the match. The Internazionale-RS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Internazionale-RS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
