The supporters of Azulgrana 81 booed when Seagulls was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Popken didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilco Owusu Abeyie to make the kick off. Floris Stühling helped the player get up and apologised. 57 minutes into the game, one of Seagulls:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 63 minutes into the game, Roger Popken cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Alvaro Karmel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Ascencio in the 68th minute of the match. Carsten Klaasens scored 4-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvaro Karmel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 73rd minute, Pedro Casomiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Azulgrana 81's goal looked a bit too open when Kurt Schröer came free, but Alvaro Karmel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Meindert Popping was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seagulls's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Azulgrana 81 the free kick. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
