The audience thought a goal was coming when Herminio Richie got free with Franciszek Wojtyna in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mieszko Werra in the 9th minute of play forced Yala's goalkeeper Valentin Eguntsenti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miromir Setara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Eguntsenti having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mieszko Werra in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valentin Eguntsenti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Feliberto Joey recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yala's Valentin Eguntsenti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stasio Bielejewski in the 25th minute of play. After some careless play in the Yala defense, Piotr Teofila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valentin Eguntsenti. The Yala fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valentin Eguntsenti should have stopped the shot. Yala's Filiberto Formerio got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Miromir Setara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in MS Rybnik's zone, Dante Mancio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franciszek Wojtyna came out of the goal and Dante Mancio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Mieszko Werra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MS Rybnik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mieszko Werra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miromir Setara struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Valentin Eguntsenti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MS Rybnik. The supporters of MS Rybnik booed when Yala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliberto Joey didn't get a good kick on the ball. Piotr Teofila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Leszek Hludzenski came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the MS Rybnik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leszek Hludzenski couldn't finish the play. A hard shot 70 in the game by Miromir Setara from a close distance when the talented Valentin Eguntsenti managed to make a qualified save. Yala's players were relieved. Piotr Teofila who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Valentin Eguntsenti when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Valentin Eguntsenti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Piotr Teofila in the 75th minute of the match.
