If Rodrigue De Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rodrigue De Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jean-Michel Caspar was a little too slow when Ive Cerar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 1-0. The En avant de guingamp fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when En avant de guingamp's Rodrigue De Castro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rodrigue De Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
