The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carlisle United. Fabian Waller struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Dion Jefferies didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Amputees FC. Carlisle United's Dion Jefferies played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Randell Dillon in the 18th minute of play. Dion Jefferies made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Randell Dillon in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of Amputees FC booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martyn Heslop didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Amputees FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Martyn Heslop was slow to take the kick. During this time Carlisle United's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Jo Higson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Amputees FC's Raleigh Gracey did a great save. Raleigh Gracey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marta Kante in the 38th minute. Dion Jefferies stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Randell Dillon's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Martyn Heslop's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 47thth minute, Raleigh Gracey skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After the first half Amputees FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ian Bastow to make the kick off. Carlisle United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 56th minute, when Randell Dillon scored to the left of an out of position Dion Jefferies, making the score, 0-3. After having played for 59 minutes, Ian Bastow managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlisle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ian Bastow was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Randell Dillon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Hugh Tyson got a free kick in the 63rd minute. If Ian Bastow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Amputees FC's Roger Kirkham got a free kick in the 67th minute. Dion Jefferies showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Randell Dillon in the 94th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Randell Dillon in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dion Jefferies saved Carlisle United from getting behind. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Amputees FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
