Ivo Amaral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Arnaldo Mino fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gastres FC's protests and gave Arnaldo Mino a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes Gastres FC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Mino. Lucas Cesaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gonçalo Sarmento in the 8th minute of play. Ivo Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pablo Bide went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. In the 24th minute, Júnior Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Arnaldo Mino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 29 minutes into the game, when Falcão Mendes put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Falcão Mendes hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Marco Endura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gastres FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Endura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivo Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raul Fresco succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 34th playminute. 37 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goalkeeper Ivo Amaral had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raul Fresco. Júnior Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. If Faustino Eduino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th match minute, Gastres FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romulo Mateo to maneuver through the defense. Abelardo Tristan hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raul Fresco to strike the kick off in the second half. Ivo Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Fresco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 53 minutes into the game, Gastres FC's Pablo Bide nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Washington Alagoano kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Marco Endura, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Ivo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pablo Bide in the 58th minute of the match. Raul Fresco scored 6-0 in the 65th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivo Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th match minute, Real Cruzeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Guilherme Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Marco Endura's late challenge caught a Real Cruzeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Endura helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Endura hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Real Cruzeiro FC's Júnior Salles couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 75th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Gastres FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldo Vianna during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gastres FC booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Vianna didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Pablo Bide came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Gastres FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pablo Bide couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute, Gonçalo Sarmento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gastres FC's Marco Endura got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 95 played minutes Real Cruzeiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Júnior Salles. Raul Fresco struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Ivo Amaral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gastres FC.
