The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd match minute, La Maquina 9-12-18 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejo Jobo to maneuver through the defense. Amadeu Koehler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Frasco went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 16 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Luís Eduardo Gerber. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victorino Iban in the 17th minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Amadeu Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Dantel was a little too slow when Joel Lopes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-3. 23 minutes into the game, Timoteo Tomi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Amadeu Koehler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Baldomero Frasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Amadeu Koehler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Amadeu Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Iban in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 minutes of play, La Maquina 9-12-18's Baldomero Frasco made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amadeu Koehler was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amadeu Koehler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Timoteo Tomi's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Lopes got free with Claudio Dantel in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to La Maquina 9-12-18 getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Teobaldo Muno hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Monumento Sports's Joel Lopes tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Gernando Ortiz hit a great ball. Amadeu Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victorino Iban in the 46th minute of play. In the 47th minute Baldomero Frasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half La Maquina 9-12-18 were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Victorino Iban stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Toninho Arruda got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of La Maquina 9-12-18 booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victorino Iban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th match minute, Monumento Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Zanette to maneuver through the defense. 63 minutes into the game, Florentino Izotz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Amadeu Koehler. Florentino Izotz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. 66 minutes into the match, La Maquina 9-12-18's Victorino Iban sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amadeu Koehler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, La Maquina 9-12-18's Baldomero Frasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Amadeu Koehler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. Timoteo Tomi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 74th minute Baldomero Frasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amadeu Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Claudio Dantel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Amadeu Koehler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baldomero Frasco went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-8 was the resulting score. In the 83rd minute, Baldomero Frasco fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Amadeu Koehler, passed just outside the right post. Claudio Dantel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Arruda in the 91st minute of play. La Maquina 9-12-18 played a much better game than Monumento Sports and deserved their victory. The Monumento Sports players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
