A collision led to Pesqueira City getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Doni Quintal hit a great ball. In the 20th minute Guillaume Barillot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo de Moraes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo de Moraes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thibaut Abeille, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 played minutes Saint Côme de Fresné got a freekick which was hit by Gérard Chambard. Olivier Barnier took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo de Moraes. Ivo de Moraes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The supporters of Pesqueira City booed when Saint Côme de Fresné was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joey Houllier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olivier Barnier hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Saint Côme de Fresné's Noël Clenet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Tavares in the 55th minute of play. Yazid Debuire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Ivo de Moraes made a huge save. After 57 minutes, Dagoberto Arruda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pesqueira City and the Saint Côme de Fresné players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 79th minute, Saint Côme de Fresné's Olivier Barnier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ivo de Moraes. Ivo de Moraes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. 81 minutes into the game, Olivier Barnier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saint Côme de Fresné's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pesqueira City the free kick. In the 81st match minute, Saint Côme de Fresné was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olivier Barnier to maneuver through the defense. Pesqueira City's Marquinhos Moraes got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gérard Chambard's late challenge caught a Pesqueira City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gérard Chambard helped the player get up and apologised. After 90 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Saint Côme de Fresné! The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Saint Côme de Fresné walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
