But to his dismay, Dorival Fontes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Ronaldo Couto hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Rodriguinho da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Novaes having to interfere. SOL's Abel Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Ferraz in the 11th minute of play. Rubinho Abreu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilson Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ADM Taquaras fans' excitement grew in the 15th match minute when ADM Taquaras's Marcel Viana looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SOL's Abel Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Ferraz in the 20th minute of play. Cássio Maranhense charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cássio Maranhense the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cássio Maranhense hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Dorival Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 46 played minutes SOL got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Maranhense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

51 minutes into the match, SOL's goalkeeper Abel Novaes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinaldo Ferraz. Marcel Viana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Fontes in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abel Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute Delfim Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Novaes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Reinaldo Ferraz notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of SOL's Abel Novaes. Abel Novaes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abel Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinaldo Ferraz got free with Abel Novaes in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 69th match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaldo Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of SOL booed when ADM Taquaras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ediberto Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronaldo Couto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rubinho Abreu. ADM Taquaras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Abel Novaes made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Dorival Fontes sent off a good shot on target. After 74 played minutes Reinaldo Ferraz rounded SOL's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reinaldo Ferraz got free with Abel Novaes in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 81 minutes into the match, SOL's goalkeeper Abel Novaes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Fontes. In the 84th minute, Reinaldo Ferraz had to leave the field with a concussion. After 84 minutes, Benjamin Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SOL and the ADM Taquaras players grew even worse after the yellow card. ADM Taquaras's Vivaldo da Costa was substituted for Reinaldo Ferraz. After a rather tough play, SOL's Benjamin Lucas got a free kick in the 86th minute. Dorival Fontes came free with the goalkeeper in the 89th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Abel Novaes could save by the left post. ADM Taquaras's Dorival Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Abel Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
