Jordon Czaczka started the match with the kick off. After 6 minutes of play, Savon Palloseura's Viljami Rajamäki made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gregory Shearn was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 8th minute, Kaarle Väätäinen made a precise shot to the right of Gregory Shearn. Boroondara Milan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 12th minute Kaarle Väätäinen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Shearn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bart Woods kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Tauno Kivimäki took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gregory Shearn. Gregory Shearn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If Murphey Muggleton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Hollingworth during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Nilson Pfingst fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boroondara Milan's protests and gave Nilson Pfingst a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Boroondara Milan's Nilson Pfingst got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes, Savon Palloseura's Viljami Rajamäki shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gregory Shearn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Savon Palloseura reached it. Gregory Shearn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viljami Rajamäki in the 26th minute of the match. Boroondara Milan's Gregory Shearn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tauno Kivimäki in the 30th minute of play. Gregory Shearn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaarle Väätäinen in the 31st minute of the match. 37 minutes into the game, Juha-Pekka Joenväärä was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Savon Palloseura's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boroondara Milan the free kick. In the 38th minute, Juha-Pekka Joenväärä hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregory Shearn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tauno Kivimäki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tauno Kivimäki in the 48th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Gregory Shearn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Tauno Kivimäki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gregory Shearn was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. After the first half Savon Palloseura were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kaarle Väätäinen was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Viljami Rajamäki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Gregory Shearn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Jordon Czaczka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tauno Kivimäki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Gregory Shearn made a huge save. 62 minutes into the match, Tauno Kivimäki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gregory Shearn. Boroondara Milan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tauno Kivimäki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. With a little luck, Boroondara Milan's Gregory Shearn got control of the ball when Tauno Kivimäki tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Gregory Shearn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tauno Kivimäki. Gregory Shearn made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Tauno Kivimäki sent off a good shot on target. After 81 minutes, Kosti Kukkonen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Savon Palloseura and the Boroondara Milan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Kosti Kukkonen hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute of the match, Kaarle Väätäinen tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Gregory Shearn saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaarle Väätäinen in the 87th minute of play forced Boroondara Milan's goalkeeper Gregory Shearn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Viljami Rajamäki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Shearn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boroondara Milan's Gregory Shearn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Boroondara Milan from getting a goal against them. Boroondara Milan's Rudy Petty quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Juha-Pekka Joenväärä, made in the 97th minute of the game. In the 98th minute Jordon Czaczka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niilo Myötänen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Savon Palloseura could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Boroondara Milan throughout the match.
