Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Goianésia E.C getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Romeu Freitas hit a great ball. Goianésia E.C's Zé Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Goianésia E.C from getting a goal against them. Zé Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Nafría in the 15th minute of play. Monte Vega fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Antunes having to interfere. Zé Antunes made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Manolito Flores sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, César Nafría left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. F.C. Goianésia E.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when César Nafría scored to the left of an out of position Zé Antunes, making the score, 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

In the 52nd minute César Nafría shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manolito Flores in the 55th minute of play. The supporters of F.C. AMERICAN BARÇA booed when Goianésia E.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Antunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
