The referee felt a red card was in order, 3 minutes into the game, when Genílson Cardozo put in a rough tackle. In the 3rd match minute, Werneck FC - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genílson Cardozo to maneuver through the defense. If Santos Sotero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 8th minute of the match, Antonio Shantala tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zé Paulo Fernandez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 11 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Shantala came free, but Zé Paulo Fernandez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo Fernandez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonio Shantala, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. A collision led to Belgrano LOS PIRATAS getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Carlos Isias hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the game, Virgílio Toledo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ernesto Maraman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 23rd minute, Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Antonio Shantala ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zé Paulo Fernandez. Zé Paulo Fernandez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Ferreira in the 29th minute of play forced Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goalkeeper Ernesto Maraman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Timoteo Bikendi got a free kick in the 30th minute. After 31 minutes of play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Rafael Loyola made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto Maraman was left in no man's land by his defense there! Zé Paulo Fernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evaristo Ekaitz in the 38th minute of play. After 39 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Fidencio. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Ernesto Maraman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Ferreira in the 46th minute of play. The Belgrano LOS PIRATAS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Werneck FC - DMZ were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antonio Shantala to make the kick off. Oséas Urbano made in the 58th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Virgílio Toledo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Loyola got free with Ernesto Maraman in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 64 minutes into the match, Antonio Shantala notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Werneck FC - DMZ's Zé Paulo Fernandez. Zé Paulo Fernandez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 70 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Elias Osoro. Evaristo Ekaitz charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Evaristo Ekaitz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute Evaristo Ekaitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zé Paulo Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Loyola received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Ernesto Maraman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
