The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the GOD OF WAR defense, Apolo Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Anthimos Chatzikostas. The GOD OF WAR fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Anthimos Chatzikostas should have stopped the shot. When Apostolos Kazanidis fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GOD OF WAR's protests and gave Apostolos Kazanidis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th minute, Humberto Guerau ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Anthimos Chatzikostas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 13th minute, Apolo Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club El Progreso fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Florencio Jaen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fragiskos Bouzios in the 16th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Florencio Jaen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lakis Laboglou. 22 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Florencio Jaen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fragiskos Bouzios. Humberto Guerau took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anthimos Chatzikostas. Anthimos Chatzikostas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Renos Koutsoukos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Florencio Jaen made a huge save. With a little luck, Club El Progreso's Florencio Jaen got control of the ball when Fragiskos Bouzios tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Club El Progreso's zone, Renos Koutsoukos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florencio Jaen came out of the goal and Renos Koutsoukos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fragiskos Bouzios got free with Florencio Jaen in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florencio Jaen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fragiskos Bouzios in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fragiskos Bouzios was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Club El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Edgardo Lastur. Fragiskos Bouzios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Jaen having to interfere. After 53 played minutes Club El Progreso got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Senen. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Lakis Laboglou managed to get in a good position for a shot. GOD OF WAR's supporters rose to their feet, but Lakis Laboglou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florencio Jaen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. GOD OF WAR made a substitution. Sakis Kamarinopoulos replaced Efthimis Anagnostakis. In the 67th minute, Fondas Sakaridis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Renos Koutsoukos might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florencio Jaen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renos Koutsoukos ran back to his position shaking his head. Lakis Laboglou received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Florencio Jaen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgardo Lastur hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Lakis Laboglou struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Florencio Jaen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GOD OF WAR. Lakis Laboglou's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Florencio Jaen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. In the 90th minute GOD OF WAR were awarded a corner. Panos Karnezis went to the cornerflag to take it. After 92 minutes Club El Progreso's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Panos Karnezis who took care of the corner kick. GOD OF WAR's Panos Karnezis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Florencio Jaen in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Florencio Jaen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Renos Koutsoukos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
