The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dinu Lechințan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Lastur in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Club El Progreso booed when GoooooL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isac Cumpanașu didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Carolo Abaurre from long distance, 6 minutes into the match, got Dinu Lechințan's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 7th minute, Apolo Ramos made a precise shot to the right of Dinu Lechințan. GoooooL's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Ioan Burdea hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. A collision led to GoooooL getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Octav Postolache hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Artemio Hegoi shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dinu Lechințan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dinu Lechințan had great luck who in the 15thth minute grab hold of the ball when Artemio Hegoi from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Club El Progreso were awarded a corner in the 16th minute after GoooooL's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Artemio Hegoi took the corner. After a rather tough play, GoooooL's Nae Hanganu got a free kick in the 16th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Artemio Hegoi got free with Dinu Lechințan in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Apolo Ramos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Dinu Lechințan made a huge save. Dinu Lechințan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomero Salomon in the 23rd minute of the match. Dinu Lechințan stood somewhat misplaced when Artemio Hegoi came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 24 minute. The supporters of Club El Progreso booed when GoooooL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ioan Burdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artemio Hegoi in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dinu Lechințan saved GoooooL from getting behind. Humberto Guerau had several of the GoooooL's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 33 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Dinu Lechințan as he didn't even see the shot coming. Constantino Senen succeeded in the game's 42nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. After some careless play in the GoooooL defense, Edgardo Lastur kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dinu Lechințan. The GoooooL fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dinu Lechințan should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The wind increased when Humberto Guerau made the kick off in the second half. Apolo Ramos struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Dinu Lechințan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club El Progreso. In the 55th minute Carolo Abaurre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dinu Lechințan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dinu Lechințan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Hegoi in the 59th minute of play. Dinu Lechințan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Humberto Guerau in the 60th minute of the match. The Club El Progreso fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Club El Progreso's Artemio Hegoi looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 64th minute, Apolo Ramos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dinu Lechințan was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. Dinu Lechințan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baldomero Salomon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 minutes of play, Club El Progreso's Humberto Guerau made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dinu Lechințan was left in no man's land by his defense there! GoooooL's Dinu Lechințan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artemio Hegoi in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to GoooooL getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Nae Hanganu hit a great ball. The supporters of Club El Progreso booed when GoooooL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelian Encea didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the match Artemio Hegoi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dinu Lechințan skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artemio Hegoi in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinu Lechințan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. GoooooL's Dinu Lechințan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Apolo Ramos in the 83rd minute of play. Club El Progreso walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
