Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lutz Ertel started the match with the kick off. Hertha 1969's Karsten Wolsch got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SAO JOANENSE FC's José do Vale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save SAO JOANENSE FC from getting a goal against them. 10 minutes into the game, Lutz Ertel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of José do Vale. Lutz Ertel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Karsten Wolsch fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José do Vale having to interfere. Hertha 1969's Alf Kleinert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Vaz in the 15th minute of play. A well placed Lutz Ertel short distance shot in the 17th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. In the 25th minute Angelo Magalhães shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Kleinert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alf Kleinert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Matorin in the 26th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper José do Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Karsten Wolsch. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eriberto Vaz to make the kick off. Karsten Wolsch might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José do Vale. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Karsten Wolsch ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 53rd minute, Lutz Ertel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hertha 1969 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafinha Furlan during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when SAO JOANENSE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafinha Furlan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 57 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 57th minute, Wiliam Matorin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 59 played minutes SAO JOANENSE FC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Mangueira. Lutz Ertel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, Karsten Wolsch made a precise shot to the right of José do Vale. SAO JOANENSE FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. José do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lutz Ertel in the 72nd minute of play. Hertha 1969's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lutz Ertel in the 73rd minute. José do Vale had in the 74thth minute some difficulties stopping Lutz Ertel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. José do Vale stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lutz Ertel's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lutz Ertel in the 79th minute of play forced SAO JOANENSE FC's goalkeeper José do Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 81 played minutes SAO JOANENSE FC got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Magalhães. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andi Godescheid in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg José do Vale saved SAO JOANENSE FC from getting behind. 85 minutes into the match, SAO JOANENSE FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lutz Ertel came free, but José do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, SAO JOANENSE FC's Wiliam Matorin got a free kick in the 91st minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 94 minutes into the game, when Rafinha Furlan put in a rough tackle. In the 94th minute, one of SAO JOANENSE FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SAO JOANENSE FC. In the 99th match minute, SAO JOANENSE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eriberto Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Hertha 1969's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
