The Olympique Fribourg fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Olympique Fribourg's Martin Zinsli looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 14 minutes into the game, Martin Zinsli cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Dario Evis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to CLATHU getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Denis Bastiaro hit a great ball. Chris Lang made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacobo Harriet in the 41st minute of play. Jacobo Sabin hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After the first half Olympique Fribourg were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Zinsli to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Rosendo Checa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CLATHU's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Olympique Fribourg the free kick. Dario Evis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Zinsli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Olympique Fribourg booed when CLATHU was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rene Irrintzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, CLATHU's Dario Evis got control of the ball when Karsten Eggers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 64 played minutes CLATHU got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Oliverio. In the 65th match minute, CLATHU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albano Geofredo to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Olympique Fribourg's Josef Gladu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dario Evis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chris Lang didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacobo Sabin went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The CLATHU fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Olympique Fribourg were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
