In the 4th minute, Jonny Strömberg fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Flávio Batista, passed just outside the right post. In the 14thth minute of the game Anselmo Madureira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dexiators's Sven-Edvin Vedholm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flávio Batista made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Robin Aleberg sent off a good shot on target. Anselmo Madureira's late challenge caught a Dexiators's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anselmo Madureira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Anselmo Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sven-Edvin Vedholm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 played minutes Dexiators got a freekick which was hit by Niclas Ek. After 25 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luís do Nascimento. In the 31st minute, Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Christiano Cearense the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Itajaí Football Club protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Christiano Cearense had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After having played for 32 minutes, Johnny Söderström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dexiators's supporters crossed their fingers, but Johnny Söderström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robin Aleberg during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Robin Aleberg kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Dexiators's Jonny Strömberg slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Flávio Batista. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Dexiators's Niclas Ek got a free kick in the 46th minute. Dexiators's Sven-Edvin Vedholm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Túlio Jacinto in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Madureira to make the kick off. A collision led to Itajaí Football Club getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. William Arósio hit a great ball. When Robin Aleberg was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 52 minutes had been played. Robin Aleberg kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Sven-Edvin Vedholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven-Edvin Vedholm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sílvio Luís do Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Sven-Edvin Vedholm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anselmo Madureira's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. When Itajaí Football Club's Anselmo Madureira in 92 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Sven-Edvin Vedholm guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in.
