In the 8th match minute, Valdieri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Sarnelli to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Valdieri's goalkeeper Aurelio Di Lullo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Egil Persson. In the 12th minute, Egil Persson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurelio Di Lullo. The goal made the score 1-0. Sven Kellberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Attilio Fortunato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Emanuele Ranieri fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valdieri's protests and gave Emanuele Ranieri a yellow card for diving instead. After 17 played minutes Valdieri got a freekick which was hit by Emanuele Ranieri. After a rather tough play, Valdieri's Fulvio Bozzelli got a free kick in the 19th minute. 23 minutes into the match, Inge Wiman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aurelio Di Lullo, 2-0. Edoardo Cabrini's late challenge caught a The Gonzez's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edoardo Cabrini helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of The Gonzez booed when Valdieri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edoardo Cabrini didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Attilio Fortunato had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edoardo Cabrini struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Sven Kellberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valdieri. 40 minutes into the match, The Gonzez's Fritz Ahlgren sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelio Di Lullo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fulvio Bozzelli hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The audience was convinced that Attilio Fortunato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sven Kellberg was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Aurelio Di Lullo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inge Wiman in the 59th minute of the match. Aurelio Di Lullo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Persson, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Valdieri's Aurelio Di Lullo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inge Wiman in the 63rd minute of play. After 66 played minutes The Gonzez got a freekick which was hit by Inge Wiman. A collision led to Valdieri getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Alessandro Mascitti hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Karl-Johan Nyberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Karl-Johan Nyberg notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Valdieri's Aurelio Di Lullo. Aurelio Di Lullo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 81st minute Egil Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelio Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Di Lullo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Persson, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. With a little luck, The Gonzez's Sven Kellberg got control of the ball when Attilio Fortunato tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aurelio Di Lullo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egil Persson in the 86th minute of play. During the 95th minute of the match Edoardo Cabrini completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Edoardo Cabrini a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Valdieri's Edoardo Cabrini got a free kick in the 96th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. The Gonzez had played much better football throughout.
