Teodoro Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but José Paulo Xavier made a huge save. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's José Paulo Xavier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Rio Verde F.C CIMZ from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Joélson Donatello got a free kick in the 15th minute. Murilo Mattos hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Tadeu Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Paulo Xavier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes, Ivo Pernambucano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rio Verde F.C CIMZ and the Barcellos Mineiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th match minute, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Pernambucano to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute of the match Jaime de Mendonça sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Paulo Xavier skillfully saved the ball. Galo Mineiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gil Coelho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Falcão Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Barcellos Mineiro FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Percy Prestes hit a great ball. 44 minutes into the match, Germano Domingues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gil Coelho. Barcellos Mineiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Germano Domingues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Rio Verde F.C CIMZ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joélson Donatello to strike the kick off in the second half. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Tadeu Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Tadeu Guerra got a free kick in the 59th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Nóbrega came free, but Gil Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Coelho made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Joélson Donatello sent off a good shot on target. After 70 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Sandy Fumarola. José Paulo Xavier came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Galo Mineiro. But to his dismay, Galo Mineiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. João Adolfo Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zeca Garcia's late challenge caught a Barcellos Mineiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zeca Garcia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th match minute, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Garcia to maneuver through the defense. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
