If Zé Carlos de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hulki Bulut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inácio Pinheiro in the 5th minute of play. After 7 played minutes Independente FC got a freekick which was hit by Nilmar Rosa. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Süleyman Taşkınay managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAŞBUĞ's supporters rose to their feet, but Süleyman Taşkınay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Quintal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Independente FC fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 13 minutes into the game, José Vítor Rodrigues cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Hulki Bulut was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22ndth minute of the game Zé Carlos de Azevedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BAŞBUĞ's Hulki Bulut was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 29 played minutes BAŞBUĞ got a freekick which was hit by Alphan Toker. The supporters of Independente FC booed when BAŞBUĞ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökalp Koca didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, BAŞBUĞ's Hulki Bulut got control of the ball when José Vítor Rodrigues tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, BAŞBUĞ's Alp Talut got a free kick in the 36th minute. Süleyman Taşkınay hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Independente FC's Gilberto Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 57 minutes of play, BAŞBUĞ's Süleyman Taşkınay made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Quintal was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nestor Quintal made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Süleyman Taşkınay sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Zé Carlos de Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hulki Bulut was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Nestor Quintal was a little too slow when Okanay Zabit got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 3-3. Gökalp Koca had several of the Independente FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-4 score and a disappointed Nestor Quintal as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 79 minutes of play, BAŞBUĞ's Gökalp Koca made it 3-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nestor Quintal was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Süleyman Taşkınay in the 83rd minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Okanay Zabit was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 88th minute. BAŞBUĞ's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Süleyman Taşkınay in the 92nd minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nestor Quintal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Zé Carlos de Azevedo made a precise shot to the right of Hulki Bulut. BAŞBUĞ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-5. The BAŞBUĞ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BAŞBUĞ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
