In the 14th match minute, Phantasy World was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Borys Domaradzki to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iwan Marchefka got free with Ab Veenema in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 19 minutes into the match, Ágætis Byrjun's goal looked a bit too open when Ryszard Bartoszek came free, but Ab Veenema reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 24th minute, Edgar Buys made a precise shot to the right of Konrad Banan. Phantasy World's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Edgar Buys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Willemsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Konrad Banan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Edgar Buys had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Konrad Banan. Phantasy World's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Buys was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Leszek Zawacki struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Ab Veenema didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Phantasy World. Edgar Buys blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Konrad Banan having to make a save. In the 42nd minute, Jak Kaa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryszard Bartoszek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgar Buys to make the kick off. The supporters of Ágætis Byrjun booed when Phantasy World was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iwan Marchefka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Buys recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute, Edgar Buys sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Phantasy World's Konrad Banan didn't even have to move. When Leszek Zawacki came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Phantasy World fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leszek Zawacki couldn't finish the play. Taco Westerink hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Jak Kaa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edgar Buys could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Konrad Banan made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Ágætis Byrjun's zone, Iwan Marchefka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ab Veenema came out of the goal and Iwan Marchefka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Phantasy World's Konrad Banan got control of the ball when Robin Willemsen tried to sneak it across the goal line. Przemyslaw Majewski's late challenge caught a Ágætis Byrjun's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Przemyslaw Majewski helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Phantasy World getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Przemyslaw Majewski hit a great ball. After 90 minutes, Ryszard Bartoszek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Phantasy World and the Ágætis Byrjun players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st match minute, Phantasy World was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ryszard Bartoszek to maneuver through the defense. Ágætis Byrjun's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
