Stepan Dordytsya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Giovani Sergipano in the 6th minute of play. In the 7th minute Giovani Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stepan Dordytsya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8thth minute of the game Cássio Paes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Philadelphia Union FC's Stepan Dordytsya was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stepan Dordytsya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Stepan Dordytsya didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cássio Paes went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Cássio Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Stepan Dordytsya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Giovani Sergipano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stepan Dordytsya was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ricardinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Stepan Dordytsya tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Panas Rurych put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Chicão Oliveira. When Giovani Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trindade Atlético Club's protests and gave Giovani Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Philadelphia Union FC booed when Trindade Atlético Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 36th minute, Cássio Paes made a precise shot to the right of Stepan Dordytsya. Philadelphia Union FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Panas Rurychs short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Chicão Oliveira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Chicão Oliveira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Panas Rurych went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

The wind increased when Cássio Paes made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Trindade Atlético Club's Yan Pereira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Philadelphia Union FC's Stepan Dordytsya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani Sergipano in the 56th minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Ricardinho de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Trindade Atlético Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardinho de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yan Pereira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Stepan Dordytsya made a huge save. If Giovani Sergipano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Panas Rurych in the 69th minute of play forced Trindade Atlético Club's goalkeeper Chicão Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Panas Rurych in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Chicão Oliveira saved Trindade Atlético Club from getting behind. In the 72nd minute Artem Berezovchuk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chicão Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stepan Dordytsya didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cássio Paes went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. Artem Berezovchuk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chicão Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Panas Rurych, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cássio Paes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Stepan Dordytsya made a huge save. In the 88th minute Giovani Sergipano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stepan Dordytsya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 94th minute, Artem Berezovchuk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Philadelphia Union FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-6. Trindade Atlético Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
